Cheers Phil, I know I have a tendency to be overly verbose at times but trying to come up with a suitable response to that news was quite simple. Still holding back the champagne until his close friend, the Wicked Witch of Finchley finally pushes off.
Note: Before some smart arse Tory tries to imply by my last statement that I'm some kind of champagne socialist, I will make it clear that 'holding back the champagne' is a common turn of phrase and at only one point in my life (at a wedding party) have I ever tasted the stuff. I didn't care for it much, and as far as my taste in sparkling white wine is concerned, I'm more an Asti Martini person.

I've posted on the difference between the response by two Margarets - Beckett and Thatcher - to Pinochet's passing.

There's also columns and columns of crap on Pinochet's passing in today's papers, but no-one will put it better than your well chosen seven words.
