A slightly perplexing notion

Just before I head off out on the campaign trail I thought I’d drop this distinctly non-political post.

Apparently 35% of Europeans have no concept of physical laws.

The article I’m referring to is this one about a survey carried out by Motorola regarding European online viewing habits. The bit I’m particularly bemused about comes right at the end.

“Other findings of the survey included 45% of respondents expecting to be able to make video calls via their television by 2012 while 35% wanted to be able to pause, rewind or fast forward live broadcasts.”

Now unless 35% of Europeans are convinced that by 2012 the human species will have risen to such technical heights as to be able to port future images to the present then they’re just simply daft. Pray tell, how does one fast forward a live event? It by its very definition is live, therefore circumstances that may be viewed through the use of fast forward simply haven’t happened yet, so short of circumventing physical theory it remains completely impossible. One then has to wonder what credence one gives to a survey in terms of if the option was provided by the survey taker Motorola or indeed the responses to it.

Funny lot those BNP

Haven’t said much about the BNP for a while. Partly because it seems most of the fun seems to go on over in Sandwell when it comes to the assorted ranks of misfits, council tax dodgers, bringer uppers of hooligans which are deftly handled by Unity and Bob, but just so they don’t get all the attention. Seems like Dominic Bugler, the BNP’s candidate for the Pelsall ward over here in the elections to Walsall MBC had to pop up to Walsall Magistrates Court yesterday to face charges of possessing a fake firearm.

Suffice to say it doesn’t appear that he’ll be at the count to see his election result on Thursday as he’s been remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on May 8th. Funny lot those BNP people.

Iain Dale, blogging pisspot

Just a simple referral over to Tim at Bloggerheads with this article. For those not aware, honest Iain and vehemently ‘independent’ honest I’m not a Tory Guido Fawkes AKA Paul Staines picked up a nice little bit of script kiddie action by whacking in some javascript to prevent deep linking from the Bloggerheads site and the UKtoday site.

Apart from being very childish it also begs the question of what really do they want to hide. It’s such a piss poor attempt at blocking deep linking to make it as good as useless.

I think the school report should say ‘could try better’.
